  3. Dr. Omar Ahmed Hussein. Faculty of Law and Political Science / University of Diyala.
  4. Dr. Ahmed Fadhil Hussein. Faculty of Law and Political Science / University of Diyala, member and supervisor.

The researcher divided the thesis into two chapters:

The first chapter includes the definition of the displaced persons and their rights under international humanitarian law.

Millions of people each year may turn into internally displaced persons and end up elsewhere within the borders of their state, searching for the safety and security they have missed as a result of the physical violations they have suffered, caused by armed conflicts (international or non-international), In addition to the development projects carried out by the States in some cases without any planning or management in advance.

The second chapter includes (international and internal efforts to protect IDPs and displaced persons).

The phenomenon of internal displacement is now more than ever became a global crisis. The number of people displaced by armed conflict and violence as of December 2014 is estimated at 38.3 million. In 2013, 22.4 million people have been displaced within their own countries as a result of disasters. Here, programs and rules must be sought to protect IDPs during their displacement or in return to their areas of origin or achieve a peaceful integration.
